On June 24, 2003 was once again on the
Mottak, skippered by Captain Ed Kean, and travelled to an
iceberg near Spaniard's Bay. Once again a narwhal came to visit us. It seemed very
curious about us. It swam near the boat, under it, and followed us
around for nearly 2 hours. Apparently a narwhal sighting in this part of
Newfoundland and Labrador is rare and I was lucky to photograph it twice.
The photos on this page show how curious the narwhal is - it is close to
boats and divers!
